Regulation 2 Definitions

(1) In these regulations, unless the context otherwise requires:

(a) “Act” means the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016 (18 of 2016);

(b) “Authority” means the Unique Identification Authority of India established under sub-section (1) of Section 11 of the Act;

(c) “Chairperson” means the Chairperson of the Authority appointed under Section 12 of the Act;

(d) “Member” includes the Chairperson and Member of the Authority appointed under section 12;

(e) “Chief Executive Officer” means the Chief Executive Officer, who shall be Member Secretary of the Authority, appointed under sub-section (1) of Section 18 of the Act;

(f) “Meeting” means meeting convened by the Authority as per sub-section (1) of Section 19 of the Act;

(g) “Schedule” means a Schedule appended to these regulations.

(2) Words and expressions used herein but not defined, and defined in the Act, shall have the same meanings assigned to them in the Act.
