Amending regulation
Aadhaar (Enrolment and Update) First Amendment Regulations, 2025
This amending instrument records 2 discrete changes to the principal regulations: regulation 27(1) is substituted (preserving the biometric-bearing Aadhaar number when duplicates are found), and Schedule II (the list of acceptable documents) is replaced in full. The Schedule II body is too long to inline — see the source PDF for the full text.
Changes
Where the Authority is satisfied that more than one Aadhaar number has been issued to the same person, the Aadhaar number assigned the earliest and containing the biometric information of the Aadhaar number holder shall be retained and all other Aadhaar number(s) shall be omitted. Provided that if none of the assigned Aadhaar numbers contain biometric information of the Aadhaar number holder, the Aadhaar number assigned the earliest shall be retained and all other Aadhaar number(s) shall be omitted.
List of Acceptable Documents for Enrolment and Update replaced in full. See the source PDF for the verbatim substituted Schedule II — multi-page tabular document lists for under-five enrolment, document-based enrolment, foreign-national enrolment, and update.
